Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to support pupils with SEMH across Shepway and surrounding areas in Folkestone, Hythe, New Romney, Lydd and nearby villages.

You’ll work in specialist schools and provisions, with flexible full-time and part-time opportunities, immediate start dates and ongoing vacancies. DBS clearance will be required, with guidance and reimbursement offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• The right to work in the UK.
• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

What You'll Be Doing

Every pupil is different, so your day will be varied and rewarding. You could be:

• Supporting a young person to stay engaged during lessons.
• Helping pupils manage their emotions using positive behaviour strategies.
• Encouraging confidence, independence and self-esteem.
• Working one-to-one with pupils or supporting small groups.
• Assisting teachers in delivering creative and engaging learning activities.
• Acting as a positive role model both inside and outside the classroom.

Your support can have a life-changing impact on a young person's education and future.

Who You'll Be Supporting

You'll work with children and young people who may have:

• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Trauma and attachment-related needs
• Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
• Behavioural challenges that require patient and consistent support

Full guidance and support will be provided by experienced school staff.
