A leading education supply agency seeks a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges in Sheffield. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is a minimum of 3 months relevant experience working with children, young people or adults.
Vision for Education are actively seeking to recruit for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who has existing experience within an SEMH environment, to work in a fantastic school in the Sheffield (S2) area working with KS1 / KS2 students.
The role
This excellent opportunity would be ideal for someone who is seeking a teaching assistant role in that specialises in working with students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Due to needs of the students that attend this school, this role can be challenging but is also very rewarding. The ideal person would be someone who has a nurturing yet resilient approach within the classroom, it is essential that you have previous experience in this area.
Requirements
To be considered for the position of Teaching Assistant (SEMH), you will:
• At least 3 months experience in a SEMH or PRU setting
• Ideally have your team teach level 2 training or be willing to complete our course
• Hold an enhanced child and adult workforce DBS which is registered to the update service is highly beneficial Vision can assist with obtaining this if required
• Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of specialist teachers
• Have a passion for supporting students and teachers, with the ability to work in small groups and on a 121 basis
