Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school setting in Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, enthusiastic, and eager to make a difference in the lives of students with diverse needs.

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. You will work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to provide 1:1 and small group support, ensuring all students can access learning in a safe and positive environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, ensuring individual learning goals are met.
• Assist the class teacher in implementing EHCPs and differentiated lesson plans.
• Foster a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment tailored to individual pupil needs.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication challenges, and behavioural needs.
• Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem through personalised guidance and encouragement.
• Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
• Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas for additional support and intervention.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or alternative provision setting.
• A calm, patient, and understanding approach to supporting children with complex needs.
• Good knowledge of SEN strategies, particularly around ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with students and staff.
• Relevant TA qualification or SEN training is desirable.
• Have anupdated CV(covering thelast ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) andan enhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
