This rewarding role involves supporting pupils aged 5-11 with SEMH needs, many of whom have EHCPs or have experienced difficulties in mainstream education.
The school provides a nurturing and structured environment where emotional wellbeing, positive relationships and personalised support are central to every pupil's success.
Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Build positive relationships that promote engagement, confidence and progress.
Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour using restorative approaches.
Encourage independence, resilience and social development.
Work collaboratively with teachers, families and external professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour.
A calm, patient and resilient approach.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
Team Teach training is desirable but not essential.
