Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a Frome placement. You will work day-to-day on a flexible basis, providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH, ASC, and attachment needs.

Join a multidisciplinary team and access high-level SEMH training, trauma-informed practice, and targeted education interventions designed to help students heal, grow, and succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH, ASC, and attachment needs.
• Implement trauma-informed and Thrive-based strategies to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist class teachers in delivering tailored, personalised educational activities.
• Act as a reliable mentor and positive role model, helping students build self-esteem and emotional resilience.
• Maintain clear communication with teaching staff and specialised therapy teams to monitor pupil progress and well-being.

Qualifications

• Strong passion for working with children or young people with SEMH, ASC, or neurodivergent needs.
• Experience in schools, care, or community settings is highly desirable.
• A trauma-informed mindset characterised by a non-judgemental, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Excellent resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to engage in specialist training.

• Competitive Pay: £92.56 - £95.00 per day.
• Consistent Schedule: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
