Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a fantastic primary school in Oldbury, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with high SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:
· Support a Year 3 pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored assistance in the classroom.
· Assist with emotional regulation and therapeutic support, helping the pupil manage their SEMH challenges.
· Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualised learning plans.
· Create a positive and inclusive environment that promotes the pupils well-being and engagement with learning.
· Support the pupils social and emotional development, helping them navigate peer relationships and classroom dynamics.
· Maintain clear communication with parents and staff regarding the pupils progress and emotional needs.

SEN Teaching Assistant Contract/Position Details
Location -Oldbury
Position – SEMH Teaching Assistant
Type of work – 1:1 SEN Support – Year 3
Start date – ASAP
Likely Duration – Ongoing long-term
Position end date – July 2025
Contract type – Temporary
Full-time/Part-time – Ful time
Minimum rate of pay – GBP90
Hours – 8:40 – 3:30(term time only)

Supply TA Experience, Training, and Qualifications
It is essential that you have SEN Teaching assistant experience, along with a relevant qualification Level 2 or Level 3 Qualification in Childcare/TA
Experience working with children with SEMH, autism, or other learning and emotional needs.
A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting children’s emotional well-being.
Excellent communication skills, both with children and colleagues.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours with a calm and supportive approach.
Knowledge of emotional regulation techniques and therapeutic support strategies is desirable.

Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months.
To be eligible for any teaching job with Prospero Teaching, you must
Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional child-related references.
