ABC Teachers are seeking passionate individuals to support children and young adults with diverse learning needs, including Social, Emotional, Mental Health Needs, as a Teaching Assistant in a specialist school.

Contract: Full-Time

Salary: £85-£90 Per Day (depending on experience and/or qualifications)

Role Overview:

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster both academic progress and social development.
  • Employ positive behaviour strategies to help students overcome challenges and thrive.
  • Provide personalized support to students, adapting lessons to meet their needs.

The School:

The school supports young boys aged 5-14 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs. Located in East Birmingham, the school offers a holistic approach to education. All students have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education and Health Care Plan with primary needs of SEMH, ASC, and ADHD. We are looking for someone with a resilient, therapeutic, and patient approach to education.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a SEN setting or equivalent personal experience supporting individuals with learning needs.
  • A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to complete a DBS check.
  • A commitment to supporting and caring for young people with physical and learning challenges.
  • The ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a classroom environment.
  • Ability to provide a minimum of 2 professional references.
