Overview

Contract: Temp to Perm. Location: Southend-on-Sea. ANZUK Education is partnered with a welcoming SEND school in Southend-on-Sea looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their inclusive team.

Salary: £92.63 - £100 per day (PAYE and Umbrella options available). The school is known for its nurturing and ambitious environment and is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education for pupils with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.

Role: You will provide vital 1:1 and small group support, working alongside the SENCO to bridge the gap between students and the curriculum. You will be a calm presence for pupils facing emotional challenges, helping them navigate their social and academic development.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet diverse MLD and SEMH needs.
  • Manage complex behaviours using positive de-escalation techniques.
  • Track student progress and collaborate with staff and external professionals.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting SEND/SEMH (within education, care, or personal settings).
  • A "child-first" mindset with high levels of patience and resilience.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
