Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Horncastle school, supporting pupils with special educational needs. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, and involves working closely with students including those with autism and ADHD to access learning.

You will assist with lessons, implement IEPs and behaviour strategies, monitor progress, and help create a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school community in Horncastle. This is a full-time position, working closely with pupils who have special educational needs, including autism and ADHD. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop social skills, and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Support pupils with autism and ADHD in managing behaviour and staying focused
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (desirable)
  • Understanding of autism and ADHD, and strategies to support these needs
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
