Job summary

Aspire People in Horncastle is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs, including autism and ADHD, in a full-time role.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver inclusive lessons, support behaviour, and help pupils access learning in a nurturing environment. The role emphasises safeguarding, patience, teamwork, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
  • Understanding of autism and ADHD, and strategies to support these needs.
  • Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support pupils with autism and ADHD in managing behaviour and staying focused.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs)
Location: Horncastle
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school community in Horncastle. This is a full-time position, working closely with pupils who have special educational needs, including autism and ADHD. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop social skills, and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • - Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
  • - Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • - Support pupils with autism and ADHD in managing behaviour and staying focused
