Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Leicester. The role focuses on helping pupils manage emotions and engage with education, working 1:1 and in small groups.

The successful candidate will provide calm, positive support, build relationships, and collaborate with teachers to support individual needs in a term-time setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is essential.
• Experience supporting SEMH, behaviour or additional needs.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain professional when managing challenging situations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Location: Leicester
Salary: £105 per day
Contract: Monday to Friday, term time only
Start Date: Immediate / ongoing

Aspire People are currently recruiting for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Leicester. This role would suit someone who has experience working with children or young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, and who can provide consistent support in a calm and positive way.

You will play an important role in helping pupils manage their emotions, develop positive relationships and engage with their education.
