Job summary

Milk Education are recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teaching Support Assistant for a specialist secondary school in Cramlington. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs and help them stay engaged in lessons.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Calm, proactive and resilient in challenging situations.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support students with emotional regulation and engagement in lessons.
• Act as a positive role model, encouraging confidence and resilience.
• Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions and break times.
• Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams.

The Role

Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential.
