Job summary

AMA Admin is recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Cramlington. The role offers multiple opportunities with potential for permanency for the right candidates.

You will provide focused 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs, help with emotional regulation in lessons and act as a positive role model to foster confidence and resilience among students.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Calm and resilient, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Support students with emotional regulation and engagement in lessons.
  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging confidence and resilience.
  • Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • Support pupils during lessons, transitions and break times.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams.

Pay: £108.00 - £115.00 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday | Full-time

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Support Assistant to join a lovely specialist secondary school in Cramlington. There are multiple opportunities available, with the potential for roles to become permanent for the right candidates.

The Role

As a SEMH Teaching Support Assistant, you will:

  • Calm and resilient, with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies
  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people

Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential.
