Forest Moor School in Harrogate invites applications for a Classroom Teacher to deliver a nurture-based SEMH-focused curriculum to pupils with SEMH needs. The role supports curriculum delivery in a specialist setting and involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to create individual learning plans.

The successful candidate will hold QTS/QTLS and have experience developing learning and behaviour programmes for pupils with additional needs, with strong communication and resilience.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is essential.
• Experience developing and monitoring learning and behaviour programmes for young people with specific support needs.
• Ideally Primary teaching experience – Early Reading and Phonics.
• Knowledge of inclusive SEN/SEMH legislation and barriers facing at-risk pupils.
• Strong communication, teamwork, creativity and personal resilience.

Responsabilités

• Nurture environment: provide a safe, secure setting based on nurture principles.
• Creative curriculum delivery: plan and teach a thematic curriculum to pupils with SEMH needs, potentially up to GCSE level.
• Baseline assessment with SENCO to establish pupil profiles and learning plans.
• Pastoral and leadership support: act as cohort tutor and liaise with care teams and senior managers.
