Job summary

Forest Moor School in Harrogate is seeking a dedicated Classroom Teacher to deliver a high-quality, nurture-based thematic curriculum for pupils with SEMH needs.

You will lead curriculum delivery in a specialist setting, building positive relationships grounded in unconditional positive regard, working with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to create individual learning plans and support pupil reintegration.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) is essential.
• Experience developing and monitoring learning and behaviour programmes for young people with specific support needs.
• Ideally Primary teaching experience with Early Reading and Phonics.

Responsibilities

• Nurture a safe, secure educational setting based on nurture principles.
• Plan and teach a thematic curriculum tailored to pupils' needs, including potential qualifications up to GCSE level.
• Baseline assess pupils with SENCO to establish Pupil Profiles and individual learning plans.
• Act as a cohort tutor, supervise support staff, and liaise with senior managers and care teams.
