Job description

SEMH Teacher

Location: Telford

Duration: Full time, ongoing

Salary: £160 – £240 per day

The School/Role:

I am working with an amazing PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) based in Telford that is seeking passionate and resilient SEMH Teachers to join their team. This fantastic Specialist Centre is for students aged between 11-16 who are unable to attend their mainstream provision because of medical reasons.

Key Duties:

  • Managing behaviour effectively using positive strategies.
  • Resolving conflicts calmly and constructively.
  • Applying emotional intelligence to build trust with pupils.
  • Creating engaging and creative lesson plans.
  • Staying highly organised to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Listening attentively to understand pupils.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
  • PECS and Makaton training/experience
  • SEMH, SEBD needs experience
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school-based references
  • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS – on the update service
