  • Managing challenging behaviour confidently using appropriate strategies and a trauma-informed approach.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and supporting their emotional wellbeing.
  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly.
  • Supporting pupils' social development, confidence, independence, and readiness for their next stage of education.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider school team and contributing to individual support plans where required.
To be successful in this Year 6 Teacher role, you will need:

  • Previous experience teaching within Key Stage Two, ideally Year 6.

  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging behaviour.
  • A strong understanding of how SEMH needs can impact learning and behaviour.
  • The ability to adapt lessons and teaching approaches to meet individual pupil needs.
  • A patient, resilient, flexible, and nurturing approach.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The confidence to work effectively alongside classroom support staff.
