Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a secondary SEMH provision based in Tewkesbury, supporting students aged 11-19 with SEMH and SEND needs. They are seeking a qualified SEMH Teacher for a full-time, long-term role with an immediate start.

You will deliver engaging lessons, manage behaviour effectively, and tailor teaching to individual needs. Pay is £170-£190 per day, on PAYE, with ongoing CPD and a supportive onboarding process.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent certification required or welcomed for applicants (ECTs considered).
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with SEMH and SEND needs.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential.
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Patient and resilient approach with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons for students aged 11-19.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a supportive learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse SEMH and SEND needs.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary SEMH provision based in Tewkesbury. The provision supports students aged 11-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, alongside students with additional SEND needs, providing a supportive environment in which young people can engage with their education.

The provision is looking to take on an SEMH Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful SEMH Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, managing classroom behaviour effectively and adapting their teaching to meet the individual educational and emotional needs of students.

The successful SEMH Teacher will have:
  • QTS (ECTs are also welcomed to apply)
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • A patient and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
