Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a secondary teacher to work with a small group of higher-ability SEN and SEMH pupils in a specialist provision secondary school in Bedford. This role involves covering multiple core subject areas and working closely with three 2:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils' development. The position begins in January on a temp to perm basis.

Key Details:
  1. Location: Bedford-based SEN & SEMH Secondary School; easily accessible by bus, train, or car.
  2. Pay: Weekly PAYE through Teaching Personnel, from M1-UPS3 pay scale (£28,000 – £43,685).
  3. Contract: Temp to perm, full-time role starting in January.
  4. Requirements: Registration with Teaching Personnel; appropriate qualifications and training.
  5. Additional: Opportunity to transition to a school-based contract after a successful trial; chance to make a difference and broaden experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop engaging lesson plans to prepare pupils for GCSEs, including providing additional tuition if necessary.
  • Manage behaviour effectively with an empathetic approach, supporting individual academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants to ensure each child's potential is maximized.
Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate should have experience with Autism (ASC) and be capable of managing behaviour effectively. An empathetic approach and ability to foster development are essential.
