GSL Education in Doncaster is seeking a SEMH Support Staff to provide consistent, individualised support to primary pupils facing social, emotional and behavioural challenges. You will work with class teachers and pastoral staff to deliver one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils engage positively with learning.

The role requires a calm, patient approach, strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with primary-aged children is desirable.
  • Experience supporting SEMH or additional needs is advantageous.
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt approach to meet individual children's needs.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor behaviour and engagement and share relevant observations with staff.

Looking for a SEMH Support Staff in Doncaster!

Job Title: SEMH Support Staff (Primary)

Location: Doncaster

Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Start Date: Immediate Start

Are you calm, patient and passionate about helping primary-aged children manage challenges and engage positively with school? A supportive primary school in Doncaster is looking for dedicated SEMH Support Staff to provide consistent, individualised support to pupils who need additional help with their emotional wellbeing and behaviour.

About the Role:

As SEMH Support Staff, you will work alongside class teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. Your day-to-day work may include one-to-one and small-group support, helping children regulate their emotions, manage behaviour and participate confidently in lessons.

You will help pupils develop positive routines and relationships while providing the consistency and encouragement they need to access their learning.

To work with GSL Education as a SEMH Support Staff (Primary), you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
