Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a confident SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Guisborough. The role involves working with pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and helping learners access the curriculum.

You will help pupils manage emotions, build trusting relationships, and implement positive behaviour strategies. A relevant qualification is desirable, though strong practical experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, challenging behaviour or additional learning needs.
• Strong practical experience working with children or young people is highly valuable.
• Desirable, but not essential: relevant qualification paired with practical experience.

This role would suit someone with experience supporting children or young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, challenging behaviour or additional learning needs.

We'd particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in:

• Residential or social care
• Sports coaching
• Psychology / Criminology / Childhood Studies
• Supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour

A relevant qualification is desirable, but strong practical experience working with children or young people is equally valuable.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
