Job summary

Polaris Education in Scunthorpe is seeking a qualified teacher to join our specialist SEMH provision serving pupils aged 5 to 18. You will plan and deliver lessons within the National Curriculum, adapt approaches for SEMH needs, and work with the team to foster positive behaviours.

Hold QTS and a degree-level qualification, with prior teaching experience in similar settings. We offer a supportive, inclusive environment, and a strong focus on pupil wellbeing and professional development.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have a strong educational background to degree level.
• Have previous successful teaching experience.
• Have previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
• Have experience of using effective behaviour management techniques.
• Be committed to professional development and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum while meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging interaction and positive learning outcomes.
