Job summary

Polaris Community in Ruddington, ENG (NG11 6LQ) is seeking a SEN Class Teacher for a full-time, term-time role at Easthorpe School. The position offers a basic salary up to £37,500 plus SEN allowance £2,679, with responsibilities aligned to the National Curriculum and SEMH needs.

You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have SEND teaching experience, strong classroom management, and the ability to lead lessons for learners aged 7–13 in a small, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have a strong educational background to degree level.
• Have previous successful SEND teaching experience.
• Have a good understanding of the examination process.
• Have previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
• Have experience of using effective behaviour management techniques.
• Be committed to professional development and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum, at primary and secondary levels, while meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging interaction and positive learning outcomes.
• Assist the Exams Officer with the planning, organisation and administration of internal and external examinations.
