Job summary

Educato Limited is recruiting a Level 2 Learning Support Assistant - SEMH Specialist for a specialist SEN school in Bury. The role is temporary and long-term, with a focus on delivering 1:1 and small group SEMH support throughout the day.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to implement individual plans, support learning and social-emotional development, and foster a calm, nurturing classroom environment. A Level 2 TA qualification and DBS are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or SEMH setting
• Be patient, calm and nurturing in their approach
• Be confident supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Be proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Have full-time availability for the duration of the role
• Hold a valid DBS (enhanced) for safeguarding requirements

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs within a specialist SEN setting
• Assisting with learning, communication, social development and emotional regulation
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Following individual support plans and contributing to pupils' development
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support
• Creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment for pupils
