Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for an Alternative Provision in Bodmin, starting September 2026. The role focuses on SEMH support in a non-mainstream setting, offering a long-term, full-time contract with consistent student support.

You will work to tailor education to individual emotional needs and enable access to a broad curriculum, including off-site activities when required. Driving to sites and a valid DBS are essential.

Qualifications

• SEMH experience with children or youth in challenging contexts.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to obtain/maintain Enhanced DBS on update service.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support tailored to students’ emotional needs.
• Help students access a broad, engaging curriculum.
• De-escalate challenging behaviours with empathy and trauma-informed approaches.
• Support community/off-site learning and transport when required.
