Job summary

Randstad Education in Bodmin is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH) to join an Alternative Provision starting September 2026. This full-time contract supports students with SEMH needs in a non-traditional setting, delivering tailored education and consistent routines.

The role requires a driving licence for community-based activities and off-site learning, plus an Enhanced DBS. Randstad offers weekly pay, CPD access, and dedicated support through a consultant.

Qualifications

• SEMH Experience (Essential): Proven experience supporting children or youth with complex SEMH needs.
• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential): Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS: Hold an enhanced DBS or be willing to process a new one through Randstad.
• Full-Time commitment: Long-term, Monday to Friday starting September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Individualised Support: Tailor learning materials and activities to match students' goals and emotional needs.
• Curriculum Access: Enable students to access a broad curriculum through creative, engaging methods.
• Behaviour as Communication: De-escalate challenging situations with empathy and a trauma-informed approach.
• Community & Off-Site Learning: Use driving licence to support community activities and off-site learning.
