Job summary

Talent Recruitment Group is seeking a Cover Supervisor for a PRU in Oldham, supporting secondary pupils with SEMH needs. You will supervise pre-planned lessons across subject areas and help maintain a structured, supportive learning environment.

The role focuses on positive behaviour, pupil engagement and collaboration with staff to ensure consistent, quality support for students. Temporary with potential to become permanent; daily pay £120–£170.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering pre-prepared lessons in a secondary setting is desirable.
• Ability to supervise classes and maintain a calm, safe environment.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a PRU or similar setting is advantageous.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects.
• Maintain a safe, calm and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs, responding positively and professionally to behaviours that challenge.
• Encourage pupil engagement, participation and positive behaviour throughout the school day.
• Monitor student progress, engagement and behaviour, keeping records where necessary.
• Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
