Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking an SEMH Class Teacher with primary curriculum experience in Birmingham. You will teach a small class of pupils with SEMH needs, plan and deliver the Primary curriculum, and adapt lessons to meet individual learning and SEMH needs using a trauma-informed approach.

You will build strong relationships, maintain routines, and support pupils to re-engage with education.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching experience.
• Experience delivering the Primary curriculum.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Teach a small class of pupils with SEMH needs.
• Plan and deliver the Primary curriculum.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual learning and SEMH needs.
• Use a trauma-informed approach to teaching and behaviour.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Establish clear routines, boundaries and expectations.
• Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Support pupils to re-engage with education and develop confidence.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist colleagues.
