Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking a Primary-trained Teacher to join a specialist SEND setting in Birmingham, teaching a small KS2/3 class of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will plan and deliver lessons across the curriculum, creating a structured learning environment where pupils can develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Previous SEMH experience and a trauma-informed approach are essential to support pupils who require calm, consistent

Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEMH pupils is essential.
  • Trauma-informed approach to learning is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a small KS2/3 class within a specialist SEND setting.
  • Deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Establish clear routines, boundaries and expectations.
  • Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
  • Support pupils' confidence, engagement and independence.
  • Monitor progress and adapt learning accordingly.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider SEND staff.
