Job summary

East Surrey College seeks an experienced SEMH Practice Lead to provide professional and specialist leadership for SEMH provision across the College Group. You will shape and coordinate support for learners with SEMH needs, champion trauma-informed and relational approaches, and guide curriculum and support staff to promote inclusive practice and effective strategies.

Qualifications

Experience supporting young people in educational or related settings.
Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
Experience applying strategies to improve engagement, attendance and retention.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
Knowledge of trauma-informed and relational approaches.

Responsibilities

Lead SEMH provision and coordinate support across the College Group.
Provide professional and specialist leadership for SEMH services across the Inclusion and Wellbeing Team.
Champion trauma-informed and relational approaches to promote inclusive practice.
Support staff with guidance to identify and respond to SEMH needs effectively.
Drive improvements in learner engagement, attendance, retention and progression.
