Connex Education Partnership is recruiting a Pastoral Support Assistant for a Knowle-based primary school in Birmingham. You will support pupils with SEMH needs throughout the school day, building positive relationships to help them feel safe and ready to engage with learning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Resilient, patient, and proactive approach.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Team Teach training is desirable but not essential.
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Acting as a positive role model throughout the school day.
• Encouraging engagement, confidence, and self-regulation.
• Managing challenging behaviours using a calm, consistent approach.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
• Supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom.
