Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is partnering with a Blackpool secondary school to recruit a dedicated Pastoral & Behaviour Support Mentor.

You will work with KS3/KS4 students (11–16) with SEMH needs, providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring to improve emotional regulation and engagement. The role offers fixed school hours (8:30 AM–3:30 PM), 13 weeks of school holidays, weekly PAYE pay, and opportunities for Team-Teach/trauma-informed CPD.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience supporting vulnerable youth, looked-after children or adolescents in residential care/youth work/PRU settings.
• Strong de-escalation abilities, emotional resilience, firm and fair boundary-setting, empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring for students with SEMH needs.
• Apply positive behaviour management and non-confrontational de-escalation in classrooms and pastoral hub.
• Act as a reliable role model to help pupils build self-esteem and re-engage with learning.
• Support attendance and reintegration into mainstream classes and emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, SENDCo and DSLs to maintain pupil tracking and safeguarding logs.
