Job summary

Five is seeking a passionate SEMH Teacher to join a supportive school in Peasedown, England. The role involves delivering engaging lessons while addressing the needs of pupils with SEMH challenges. Successful candidates will have QTS or equivalent, with a strong focus on resilient classroom management and relationship building.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a supportive school in Peasedown, working within a mainstream setting with SEN responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons within a mainstream classroom
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Manage and support behaviour effectively using a consistent and nurturing approach
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, support staff, and external professionals
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (highly desirable)
  • Strong classroom management skills and a calm, patient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships and engage pupils who may struggle in traditional settings
  • A flexible and proactive mindset
Essential Criteria
  • Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday‑Friday 8:30‑15:30
  • Right to work in the UK – we cannot accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa
  • Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years
  • Up‑to‑date DBS/police check, or willingness to obtain one
  • Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or will be assisted to process a new one at cost of £62.70 (refunded after 20 days of work)
