Job summary

PK Education is seeking an SEMH Teacher for a specialist setting in Sheffield (S5). The role offers daily rates (£170–£250) or a permanent MPS/UPS with SEN allowance, starting ASAP or September 2026.

You will deliver differentiated lessons, support SEMH pupils, and work with a supportive team to promote emotional wellbeing and positive educational outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated SEMH lessons.

Salary: £170 £250 per day (depending on experience and qualifications) or MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance for permanent roles

Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to inspire young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting in Sheffield (S5).

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who require a nurturing, structured and therapeutic approach to learning. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve positive educational outcomes.

The Role

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and additional learning needs.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage emotional wellbeing and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour through restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Is patient, resilient and committed to helping every learner succeed.
  • Can adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs.
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
