TeacherActive is recruiting an SEMH Learning Support Assistant for a specialist school in Billericay, Essex, starting after October half-term. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH, ADHD and autism, using trauma-informed approaches to foster a safe, positive learning environment.

The role involves supporting teachers with differentiated lessons, helping pupils reach EHCP targets, and guiding transitions into further education, training or employment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations and build relationships.
• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and EHCP targets.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
• Help pupils engage with education and manage emotional dysregulation.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to create a safe learning environment.
• Support teachers with differentiated lessons and personalised activities.
• Assist pupils in achieving EHCP targets and developing social and communication skills.
