Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEMH, SEND, youth work, care or alternative provision.
• Resilient, adaptable and confident in managing challenging behaviour.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
• Calm, professional and positive in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs in and out of the classroom.
• Build positive relationships to promote engagement, attendance and progress.
• Work with teachers and pastoral teams on individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
• Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to help students manage emotions.
• Encourage positive behaviour and development of social and emotional resilience.
