Job summary

Teaching Personnel are supporting a number of alternative provision settings across Birkenhead and the wider Wirral area in recruiting dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistants for both full-time and part-time positions.

The role involves supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs, building positive relationships, implementing support plans, and providing 1:1 and small group interventions.

Qualifications

• All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.

Responsibilities

• Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs both in and out of the classroom.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement, attendance, and academic progress.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
• Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to help students manage emotions and overcome barriers to learning.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support students in developing social and emotional resilience.
