Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist SEMH school in Andover, Hampshire. You will provide dedicated support to pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, both in and out of the classroom, under the guidance of teachers and pastoral staff.

The role is term-time only with a pay rate of £14.25 per hour. Prior education experience helps, but full training and ongoing support are provided to help you develop skills in safeguarding, behaviour

Qualifications

• Experience in education is beneficial but not required.
• Able to build positive relationships with students.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to students
• Supporting pupils to engage with learning and remain focused in lessons
• Building positive, professional relationships with students
• Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting positive outcomes
• Helping students regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations
• Supporting social, emotional, and personal development
• Assisting during breaktimes, transitions, and enrichment activities
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe and supportive environment
• Recording and reporting on student progress and wellbeing as required
