Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist school in the Andover area, supporting children with a range of needs, including autism and SEMH. The role involves classroom and pastoral support, one-to-one and small-group work, and collaboration with teachers and therapists.

The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and resilient with a genuine interest in working with children. Previous education experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Patient, reliable, resilient and supportive.
• Experience in education is advantageous but not essential.
• Backgrounds may include education, care, youth work, coaching, childcare, healthcare, mental health support, or customer-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support.
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning.
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Promoting communication, confidence, independence, and social development.
• Building positive relationships with pupils.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and activities.
