Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEMH Learning Mentor for a Specialist Special School & Alternative Provision in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. The role is full-time, term-time, Monday to Friday, offering a daily rate between £125.89 and £145.89 depending on experience.

You will mentor pupils, support emotional regulation, and contribute to inclusive education by collaborating with teachers and pastoral teams in a nurturing, resilience-building environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
• Exceptional communication, high emotional resilience, patience, and conflict-resolution capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1-to-1 and small-group mentoring sessions to support emotional regulation and academic progress.
• Utilise therapeutic de-escalation strategies and restorative practices to support students through challenging moments.
• Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor student development and update support plans.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where disengaged learners feel valued and encouraged to succeed.
