Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Carshalton to support pupils who sometimes struggle with their emotions, behaviour, or confidence in the classroom.

You will support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them stay engaged with learning and build confidence. This role involves 1:1 or small group work and assisting teachers.

Qualifications

• Calm, patient and resilient approach to pupils.
• Ability to stay composed when dealing with emotions and behaviour.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH is advantageous.

Responsibilities

We’re working with schools in Carshalton who are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils who sometimes struggle with their emotions, behaviour, or confidence in the classroom.

These are great young people who need direction, encouragement, and a positive influence to help them stay focused and succeed at school.

The role

You’ll support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them stay engaged with learning and build confidence.

This may include:

• Working 1:1 or with small groups

• Helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour

• Acting as a positive role model

• Supporting teachers in the classroom

Experience in schools, youth work, coaching, care work, or SEND support is a big plus.
