Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a resilient SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs in a Leeds school. You will work closely with teachers to provide targeted support in and out of the classroom.

This role offers long-term and temp-to-perm opportunities, ongoing training and support, and a rewarding chance to make a lasting difference to pupils’ confidence, wellbeing and future success.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEMH, behaviour or vulnerable pupils.
  • Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
  • Calm, patient and empathetic nature.
  • Background in education, youth work, support work or similar welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting SEMH pupils in and out of the classroom.

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs? A supportive primary school in LS14 is looking for a resilient and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The Role
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom
  • Building positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust
  • Delivering targeted interventions and emotional support
  • Assisting with behaviour management strategies
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
