Job summary

Springwell Alternative Academy Grantham is seeking an SEMH Learning Practitioner to support staff and pupils within classrooms and during interventions. You will help pupils with additional needs, assist with crisis management using de-escalation, and help pupils return to learning quickly.

You will keep accurate records, contribute to pupil profiles and learning journals, support offsite visits, run extra-curricular activities, and assist with staff training and meetings as part of daily

Responsibilities

• Support identified pupils who require additional adult support in class
• Deliver small group or 1:1 interventions, including using the classroom minibus for community sessions
• Support pupils in crises using Team Teach and de-escalation techniques
• Prepare and support pupils to return to learning as quickly as possible
• Maintain pupil intervention logs and update Pupil Profiles and Risk Assessments
• Contribute to Learning Journals evidencing pupil progress
• Support offsite visits and lead extra-curricular activities during breaks and lunch
• Assist Behaviour for Learning Lead with staff training
• Attend daily briefings, meetings, CPD and KS meetings
