Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEMH provision based in Childwall, Liverpool (L16), seeking a passionate HLTA to join on a permanent basis from November 2026. You will support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, lead lessons when needed, and deliver targeted interventions to help learners rediscover their love of learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• A recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience delivering small-group interventions and supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
• Strong behaviour management and positive behaviour support strategies.
• Ability to lead planned lessons and adapt learning to pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead planned lessons when required and deliver tailored 1:1 support.
• Deliver engaging small-group interventions for SEMH pupils.
• Implement positive behaviour management to create a structured learning environment.
• Build positive relationships and celebrate individual achievements.
• Support pupils in overcoming barriers to education and developing life skills.
