Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an experienced HLTA for a permanent position in a specialist SEMH provision based in Liverpool. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, delivering engaging small-group interventions and 1:1 support.

The successful candidate will lead planned lessons when required and employ positive behaviour strategies to create a structured, supportive learning environment, contributing to pupils' social, emotional and educational development.

Qualifications

• Recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting SEMH pupils and challenging behaviour.
• Experience delivering targeted small-group interventions and supporting learners with additional needs.
• Strong behaviour management and knowledge of positive behaviour strategies.
• Ability to lead planned lessons and adapt learning to pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging small-group interventions for SEMH pupils.
• Provide tailored 1:1 support to individual learners.
• Confidently lead planned lessons when required.
• Support pupils with challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver effective interventions.
