TeacherActive is recruiting a dedicated HLTA to join a specialist SEMH provision in Childwall, Liverpool. The role involves delivering planned lessons, leading small-group interventions and providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, under the guidance of teaching staff.

The successful candidate will use positive behaviour management strategies to foster a structured, supportive learning environment and help pupils overcome barriers to education.

Qualificações

• A recognised Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Experience delivering targeted small-group interventions and supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
• The confidence to lead planned lessons, manage classroom activities and adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs
• A patient, resilient and enthusiastic approach, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed

Responsabilidades

• Lead planned lessons and deliver engaging small‑group interventions
• Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH needs
• Support pupils with additional learning needs and adapt learning to individual abilities
• Apply positive behaviour support strategies to create a structured learning environment
• Collaborate with teaching staff to plan sessions and monitor progress
