Job summary

Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant role based in Wakefield within an alternative provision that supports students unable to attend mainstream due to SEMH needs and behaviour challenges. ASAP start with both short-term or long-term placements.

You will work closely with teaching staff to support students with SEMH needs, manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies and provide one-to-one and small group support to help learners engage with their lessons in a structured, nurturing

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Experience within an alternative provision, PRU, SEND school or similar setting is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students who may struggle to engage with education.
