TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant in Wakefield to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You will assist with learning activities, help manage emotions, and promote a safe,Inclusive classroom environment.

Ideal candidates will build positive relationships, communicate effectively with pupils and staff, and remain patient and resilient when supporting challenging behaviour across long-term or short-term placements.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with a patient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Positive and adaptable attitude.
