Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting SEMH & Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work across Manchester and surrounding areas. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, helping them regulate emotions and stay engaged in lessons.

This full-time, long-term role offers a supportive consultant and opportunities to develop skills in behaviour and pastoral work within primary and secondary settings.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
  • Confident managing difficult or heightened situations calmly.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Patient, resilient, and consistent.
  • Able to establish clear boundaries while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Understanding of emotional regulation and the reasons behind behaviour.
  • Confident working independently on a 1:1 basis.
  • Experience within a school, youth work, mentoring, care, or similar setting is desirable.

Aspire People are recruiting Teaching Assistants with experience supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across primary and secondary schools in Manchester and the surrounding areas.

The Role:
