GSL Education is seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a dedicated SEMH base within a mainstream school in Oldham. This full-time, long-term role suits a calm, resilient behaviour specialist who can build trusted relationships with pupils with SEMH needs and help them stay regulated and included in school life.

You will support pupils with SEMH in both base and classroom settings, use de-escalation techniques, follow individual plans, and liaise with teachers and parents to

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a school setting.
• Experience in SEMH base or specialist setting is desirable.
• NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
• Fluent spoken English essential.

Responsabilidades

• Support pupils with SEMH needs in the base and mainstream lessons.
• Build trusting relationships and help pupils regulate emotions.
• Apply de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Follow behaviour plans and safeguarding procedures.
• Deliver 1:1 or small group interventions for learning and wellbeing.
• Liaise with parents, SENCO and wider support team.
